The Carambola Beach Resort still has availability during the festival.

It’s the biggest, best Christmas party in the Caribbean: Crucian Christmas, the legendary annual festival on St Croix in the US Virgin Islands. It’s a weeklong celebration that towers over every other holiday party in the region — and it’s back again for a star-studded schedule this year.

So what do you need to know? This year’s lineup kicks off with a Calypso Monarch competition on Dec. 27, followed by events every night, from a cultural night featuring stars like DJ Poppy Pops and Willy Chin to a Flag-O-Rama Night including DJ Avalanche and Lips International, among others.

The event runs through Jan. 4 for Madras Mas night, when Machel Montano headlines a lineup that includes DJ Karl, International Steven, Rudy Live & QC Deh Band, Trilla G, VIO Int’l, Pumpa.

“Every year we aim to bring the best experiences to the island of St. Croix’s locals and visitors, spotlighting our territory’s rich and diverse culture,” said USVI Tourism Commissioner Joseph Boschulte in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal. “This year, we are spotlighting our deep connectivity to the Caribbean region, with performers representing a wide array of our neighboring islands, as well as homegrown stars.”

If you want an authentic, energy-filled, delicious event, this is the way to spend the end of the year. We’ve visited St Croix for it and know just how much fun it really is.

“The U.S. Virgin Islands has three reasons to fete, and the Division of Festivals invites everyone to come and experience 10 days of festival in St. Croix ‘Keeping our Traditions and Culture Alive,’” said Ian Turnbull, who leads the U.S. Virgin Islands Division of Festivals, which runs the destinations impressive lineup of annual events.
