Hilton Honors Is Getting a Major Overhaul for 2026

Hilton is reshaping its Hilton Honors loyalty program for 2026, making it significantly easier for travelers to earn status — and adding an all-new top tier designed for the brand’s most dedicated guests. The changes arrive as Hilton continues to grow across the Caribbean, where the company now has more than 20 properties open or in development, from Waldorf Astoria Cancun to the recently opened Hilton Tulum.

The headline change is Diamond Reserve, a new tier launching this January that adds premium perks, including confirmable suite upgrades at booking, guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout and dedicated concierge-style support. Hilton says the goal is to make elite recognition feel more personal, more flexible and more rewarding for frequent travelers.

At the same time, the company is lowering the thresholds for its mid-tier and top-tier statuses. Gold will require just 25 nights per year — down from 40 — and Diamond will drop to 50 nights instead of 60. Gold remains one of the most valuable mid-tier statuses in the hotel world, offering space-available upgrades, on-property food and beverage credits or breakfast, and an 80 percent points bonus on stays. Diamond members keep benefits like lounge access, 48-hour room guarantees and a 100 percent points bonus.

For travelers who frequent the Caribbean, the changes mean faster access to benefits at some of the region’s top Hilton properties.

Diamond Reserve brings a new layer above both existing tiers. Travelers who reach 80 nights and US$18,000 in annual eligible spending will receive a Confirmable Upgrade Reward that locks in a premium room — up to a one-bedroom suite — at the time of booking, even on stays up to seven nights. Diamond Reserve members will also receive priority for pre-arrival upgrades, with decisions confirmed as early as three days before check-in.

The new tier includes guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout, access to Hilton’s growing network of Premium Clubs, and exclusive 24/7 support with a team trained to provide priority assistance. Members who reach Diamond Reserve will also earn a 120 percent points bonus on every stay.

Hilton emphasized that core features of the program remain intact. There are still no blackout dates on reward stays booked entirely with points, no resort fees on all-points reservations, and the Fifth Night Free benefit continues to give members extra value on longer stays — a major perk for Caribbean-focused travelers booking extended vacations.

For Hilton Honors members, the changes will be felt quickly. Status will be easier to reach, benefits will kick in sooner and upgrades will be more predictable. And for travelers headed to the Caribbean in 2026, the revamped tiers make Hilton’s expanding portfolio more appealing than ever — with more ways to earn, redeem and get rewarded at properties across the region.

Hilton says the new tier is the result of years of member feedback and a deeper focus on personalization. Mark Weinstein, Hilton’s chief marketing officer and head of luxury brands, said the company wanted a way to better recognize its most dedicated travelers. “Loyalty is not something we take lightly,” he said, noting that the Diamond Reserve tier was designed for guests “who entrust their travel to Hilton.”

He added that the team spent years refining the concept. Enhancing the stay experience, he said, is “the foundational building block to driving loyalty,” and the new suite of ultra-premium benefits was “thoughtfully designed” to make the Hilton experience even stronger
