Barbados is set for a boost from the Canadian market this winter, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The island is preparing for an expansion in airlift from Air Canada, local tourism officials confirmed this week.
For the peak season, Air Canada will be flying daily nonstop service between Toronto and Barbados. That’s along with four weekly flights from Montreal as well.
It reflects “growing demand from Canadian visitors eater to explore Barbados,” according to a statement from Barbados Tourism Marketing provided to CJ.
So far this year, Barbados has already received almost 64,000 visitors from the Canadian market.
Canada is generally among the top three source markets for Caribbean travel, along with the United States and the United Kingdom.
