Trinidad and Tobago sprinter Kelly-Ann Baptiste is reportedly the latest Caribbean sprinter to fail a test for a banned substance.

Baptiste, a native of Scarborough, Tobago, failed the test ahead of this week’s IAAF World Championships in Moscow, and will be withdrawing from the race.

Baptiste has represented Trinidad and Tobago in three Olympics.

She is also the latest high-profile female sprinter from the Caribbean to test positive, following a recent positive test by Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell Brown.

It has been a disappointing month for the track world, one that has included positive tests by former Olympic medalists Tyson Gay and Asafa Powell.
