JetBlue Just Launched a New Nonstop Flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico

The new Baltimore–San Juan service adds another Caribbean option from the Mid-Atlantic, just ahead of the winter season.
The blue cobblestones of Old San Juan. The golden sand of Isla Verde. Oceanfront hotels in Condado, rooftop cocktails and a dinner reservation you’ve been meaning to make.
Puerto Rico’s capital just got another nonstop connection from the mainland United States.
JetBlue launched its new service between Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport on November 2, adding a new route between Maryland and the Caribbean.
The launch gives passengers across the Baltimore–Washington region another airline option for reaching San Juan as the winter vacation season approaches.
The New San Juan Connection
We first reported on JetBlue’s planned Baltimore–San Juan route in May, when the airline announced a broader Puerto Rico expansion that also included new Fort Lauderdale–Ponce service and additional Aguadilla flights.
Now the Baltimore connection has arrived.
The route follows JetBlue’s entry into Baltimore in July, when the airline began flying between the airport and Fort Lauderdale. San Juan adds a Caribbean destination to that presence.
The immediate draw is straightforward: a nonstop flight into a city where you can combine a beach vacation with restaurants, historic streets and a substantial choice of hotels.
Where to Stay in San Juan
Your hotel choice starts with which part of San Juan you want outside your door.
In Old San Juan, El Convento puts you inside the historic district, with a courtyard at the center of the hotel and the neighborhood’s streets, shops and landmarks nearby.
Condado brings a different vacation: ocean views, restaurants and hotels along the waterfront. The Condado Vanderbilt remains our premier luxury choice in the city, with its historic main building, oceanfront pools and destination dining.
In Isla Verde, the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel pairs a broad stretch of sand with four pools and its celebrated lobby bar. We included all three in our guide to the best hotels in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Planning Your Flight
The new service is another option to compare when choosing winter dates, particularly if Baltimore is your preferred departure airport.
Start with the nonstop flight, then choose your neighborhood: Old San Juan for a stay in the historic center, Condado for an oceanfront city vacation, or Isla Verde for a beach-focused escape close to the airport.
