Pollo Tropical Expanding to Guyana

By: - July 27th, 2016

Fast-casual Caribbean-inspired restaurant Pollo Tropical is expanding to Guyana, parent company Fiesta Restaurant Group announced.

The company plans to open its first Pollo Tropical in Guyana in Georgetown in the fall, with plans for five locations in Guyana.

The expansion is the result of an agreement between Pollo Tropical and Guyana-based RobCar Investments, led by Terrence Campbell, who currently operates 15 restaurants in Guyana, including Church’s Chicken, Dairy Queen, Quiznos and Mario’s Pizza.

“Terrence is an extremely experienced and successful multi-unit, multi-brand operator in Guyana, and he is an ideal partner for our expansion into Georgetown,” said Pollo Tropical COO Danny Meisenheimer. “We’ve been seeing a lot of interest in Pollo Tropical in the Caribbean and Latin America, and we hope to open multiple new international locations by 2020.”

Pollo Tropical currently has 35 franchised locations in the wider region.
