Rosewood Baha Mar Has a New Executive Chef

By: Dana Niland - April 16, 2024

Nassau’s Rosewood Baha Mar resort has appointed a new chef to lead its expansive culinary program, Caribbean Journal has learned.

New executive chef Fabio Pineda will service all five Rosewood Baha Mar dining outlets: Café Boulud The Bahamas, in partnership with Daniel Boulud, along with Dinex Group, Costa, Manor Bar, Tingum on the Sand and The Library.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chef Fabio to the Rosewood Baha Mar family,” said Managing Director Monica Ortiz. “As one of the most passionate and influential chefs in the industry, he prioritizes delivering exceptional service through culinary innovation. We are excited about his wealth of international expertise that our guests will experience through his unique style of cooking.”

Pineda has over 25 years of global culinary experience working in the U.S., Dubai, Oman, Bangkok and Shanghai.

He has expertise in Mediterranean, modern American, Latin and Asian cuisines.

Growing up, Pineda’s grandmother ran a cooking school for the local community, and he would spend hours each day after school helping out with the classes.

“This is when I fell in love with the craft,” said Pineda. “I was immediately drawn to cooking and inspired to pursue a career in the industry.”

In his current role, Pineda is excited to immerse himself in the “culinary mecca” that is Rosewood Baha Mar, all while elevating the guest experience and serving the highest-quality dishes, he said.
