A New Way to Fly Between Barbados and Jamaica

No Caribbean airline has added more flights in the last year than interCaribbean, the Turks and Caicos-based carrier that continues to fill the LIAT void with a host of new routes across the region.

The latest? Newly-launched service between Bridgetown, Barbados and Kingston, Jamaica.

The new flights, which kicked off this week, also make for easy connections from Grenada, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Antigua, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Guyana.

The expansion has been fueled by interCaribbean’s acquisition last year of an additional seven ATR-42 aircraft from Romanian airline TAROM last year.

It’s another crucial new service for a part of the world that continues to be plagued by difficult intra-regional travel.

Barbados officials also hope the new route will help tourism from the Caribbean market.

“This connection with interCaribbean will play a major role in furthering our efforts in our sports tourism, the business sector, carnivals, and Crop Over and it will also assist with allowing ease of travel throughout the region for our Caribbean neighbors,” Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc said in a statement.
