Copa Airlines Is Adding More Nonstop Flights to Trinidad

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 9, 2024 - 2:31 pm

Beginning in June, Panama-based Copa Airlines is expanding its flights to the island of Trinidad, Caribbean Journal has learned.

On June 5, Copa will add another three weekly frequencies between Panama City and Port of Spain, meaning a total of 10 flights each week.

Copa will now be operating daily flights to Trinidad, with a second flight each day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

As Trinidad works to grow its tourist arrivals, Copa’s new service is far more than just a connection from Panama.

Copa’s hub at Tocumen International Airport is one of the leading gateways for travelers from across South America, helping to expand options for travelers to Trinidad from the continent.

Trinidad officials say they have been “working consistently to form strategic alliances with Copa and other airlines servicing the Latin American region in an effort to enter new markets and to increase demand for new flights to the destination.”

Trinidad is seeing strong interest for its Caribbean-leading carnival, with a 36 percent increase in flights to Trinidad and a 30 percent increase in seating capacity, compared to last year. That data was provided by Sabre Market Intelligence and Trinidad Tourism.
