Does American Airlines Fly to Haiti? It Just Restarted Service

The airline’s Miami–Cap-Haïtien service launched today, restoring a daily connection between South Florida and Haiti’s northern coast.
American Airlines is flying to Haiti again.
The airline today resumed nonstop service between Miami and Cap-Haïtien, bringing a major U.S. airline connection back to northern Haiti. The November 1 launch introduces daily flights aboard Boeing 737 aircraft, with access to American’s connecting network through its Miami hub.
It’s a return we’ve been following since June, when we first reported on American’s plans to relaunch the route. Now that planned return has become a daily nonstop option.
What’s on the Route
American is operating one flight each day between Miami International Airport and Cap-Haïtien. The Boeing 737 service includes premium cabin seating and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi by AT&T, according to the airline.
The daily frequency gives passengers flexibility when choosing departure and return dates. Beyond South Florida, the Miami hub also puts Cap-Haïtien within reach through connecting itineraries on American.
The launch follows the airline’s announcement earlier this year and the launch-day celebration plans we reported last month, which emphasized American’s relationship with South Florida’s Haitian community.
A Connection With Particular Significance
Family ties are central to this route. South Florida’s Haitian community now has another nonstop option for reaching northern Haiti, whether the purpose is seeing relatives, attending a family occasion or returning home.
American’s arrival also adds another airline choice on a corridor already served by Sunrise Airways. The restored service gives passengers an additional option when comparing schedules, connections and available seats.
Cap-Haïtien is the gateway to Haiti’s northern coast. Its role in the country’s air access has become particularly significant while service to the capital remains restricted.
A Return to Northern Haiti
Today’s launch is specifically a return to Cap-Haïtien. American has not resumed flights to Port-au-Prince, where U.S. airline operations remain subject to federal restrictions.
That geographic detail matters: the new daily service restores American’s connection to northern Haiti, with Cap-Haïtien as the arrival point.
After months of anticipation, the central news is straightforward. American’s Miami–Cap-Haïtien route is back, and it is operating daily.
