Princess Cruises Is Adding New Shore Excursions on the Mexican Riviera: Wine Tours, Taco Parties, and Chocolate Tastings
Princess Cruises is deepening its ties to Mexico’s Pacific coast. As the line celebrates 60 years of sailing to the Mexican Riviera, it has announced 13 new shore excursions across Cabo San Lucas, La Paz, Manzanillo, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta, available on sailings beginning in late 2025.
Among the most notable additions is a Princess-exclusive experience in Cabo San Lucas — the Todos Santos Wine Experience. Guests are guided through Viñedo Las Tinajas, the first winery in Todos Santos, sampling white, rosé and red wines paired with artisanal bruschetta. The excursion also includes time to explore the historic downtown, with visits to the Mission of Our Lady of Pilar and the famed Hotel California.
In La Paz, adventure meets tradition with the Baja Ocean Wonders & Scalloping Experience. Guests join a local fishing family to learn about the sustainable harvest of callo de hacha, a prized scallop of the Sea of Cortez. The day includes snorkeling, hands-on harvesting, and a fresh ceviche feast on the beach, before a short city tour back into La Paz.
Manzanillo’s new Cuyutlán Turtle Sanctuary and Salt Museum tour underscores the region’s conservation spirit. Guests explore a century-old salt barn converted into a museum, then continue to Mexico’s largest turtle sanctuary, which protects endangered sea turtles along this stretch of coast.
Mazatlán adds a culinary highlight with the Heritage Taco Fiesta. Held in a hacienda-style home in Centro Histórico, the experience blends history and flavor: guests watch tortillas being made by hand, sample a spread of tacos and salsas, and enjoy folkloric music before walking to Machado Square or browsing local crafts.
In Puerto Vallarta, the Real Mexico & Chocolate Experience offers a taste of daily life beyond the resort zone. Guests visit the traditional town of Pitillal before heading to a family-run cacao and coffee plantation for tastings and demonstrations, capped with tequila and chocolate pairings.
“Mexico remains one of our most beloved destinations, and we’re continually enhancing our shore excursion offerings to help guests connect more deeply with its vibrant culture,” said Alfredo Jimenez, Princess Cruises Vice President of Onboard Revenue.
