Pendry Is Opening Its First-Ever Caribbean Resort in Barbados

What the new Pendry Barbados will look like.

Luxury boutique brand Pendry is opening its first-ever Caribbean hotel on the island of Barbados. The company is rebranding — and transforming – the former Port Ferdinand residential resort into what is now one of the region’s most anticipated debuts.

So what’s in store?

An 80-room retreat, with a marina, several eateries, a spa, a kids’ club and a residential component, among other components.

Unlike its forebear, Port Ferdinand, it will be directly on the beach, rather than simply built along the marina. That’s a big difference, and a major new addition for Barbados’ west coast hotels.

It’s a big boost for the northwestern corner of Barbados, home to beloved beach towns like Speightstown but still a bit of a frontier for the island’s tourism product.

Pendry is a boutique brand under the Montage umbrella; Montage is also opening its first branded resort in the Caribbean soon, with the Montage Cay residential resort on the way on a private island in the Abaco chain of The Bahamas.

What about the timeline? The plan is for a 2026 debut, though no specific opening date has been revealed.
