It’s quietly become one of the fastest-growing airlines serving the Caribbean: ultra-low-cost carrier Avelo, which initially began its push in the Connecticut area but is now adding flights across the country.
The latest one? A new route from Raleigh-Durham to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The new route will be launch sales on Feb. 12 and begin operations next November, with flights on Wednesdays and Sundays, according to the carrier.
The flight from Raleigh to Jamaica takes about three hours.
It’s the second new flight Avelo has launched in the last quarter to Montego Bay, following just-started service from Hartford to Mobay.
Are you flying to Montego Bay? Just make sure you use the outstanding Club Mobay, the departure lounge that also includes always-useful fast-track arrival service. It’s an experience we’ve called the best airport lounge in the Caribbean, and that remains the case.
