The Dutch Caribbean’s hottest destination is about to get a major new flight from South Florida, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Brazilian carrier Azul is adding a new connection from Brazil to Curacao that will include a connection between Fort Lauderdale and Curacao — meaning a new nonstop flight from South Florida to the Dutch Caribbean island.

Azul’s flights between Fort Lauderdale and Curacao will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the Curacao Tourist Board confirmed this week.

“Curaçao is already a highly desired vacation destination; it is an island with a pleasant climate and can be visited at any time of the year,” said César Grandolfo, Institutional Relations Manager at Azul.

The new flights are already live to book on Azul’s Web site.

The airlift only bolsters what has been a record-breaking tourism pace for the island.
