Playa: Caribbean, Mexico All-Inclusive Resorts Open and Operational

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 15, 2024 - 10:08 am

Playa Hotels and Resorts owns or operates 25 different resorts in the wider Caribbean-Mexico region.

After Hurricane Beryl barreled through the Caribbean Sea earlier this month, it was no surprise that Playa would offer an update on its portfolio.

So what’s the status of Playa’s properties in the region?

Playa’s resorts “did not sustain significant damage from Hurricane Beryl,” the company said in a statement obtained by Caribbean Journal.

“All of the company’s resorts are currently open, operational and welcoming our arriving guests,” the property confirmed.

Playa has grown dramatically in the Caribean in the last decade, since it began its initial all-inclusive push with Hyatt.

In all, the company’s portfolio includes 9,127 rooms across the region.
