Hilton Is Opening a New Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 15, 2022

Hilton is opening a new hotel in Kingston, Jamaica.

It’s called the ROK Hotel, and it will be part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection.

The hotel is slated to open its doors on May 31, 2022, according to Hilton Hotels.

It’s a major new addition to Kingston, following the pre-pandemic debut of the new AC Hotel by Marriott, a partnership between Sandals Resorts International and Marriott International.

The 168-room property is set in the heart of the Kingston Waterfront, an area that has been in the midst of a dramatic renaissance in recent years.

Amenities will include an outdoor pool and bar and a fitness center, along with three dining concepts: Palate, a mix of Caribbean and international cuisines; ROK Cafe andMarket, a coffee shop and bakery; and ROKstone Pool Bar and Grill.

Jamaica has been looking to reposition Kingston as a tourism destination in recent years, and now the city is building up the hotel product to match, with the ROK, the aforementioned AC Hotel and the Spanish Court, which has been the area’s leading place to stay for years.

The capital is also seeing a wave of new airlift from major carriers like American Airlines and JetBlue.
