Tourism Corporation Bonaire has announced the appointment of a new director, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The island’s top tourism organization has tapped Miles Mercera to the role.

Mercera is the former president and chief executive officer of the Curacao Hotel and Tourism Association.

He had also served in marketing and product roles for that organization.

It’s a return for Mercera, who also served for almost two years early in his career as an online and product executive at the Tourism Corporation Bonaire.

Bonaire is currently open for tourism; U.S. flights relaunched to the destination last month.
