Cuba Falls to US in Gold Cup, 4-1

Cuba fell to the United States, 4-1, in a Gold Cup match on Saturday in Utah.

Cuba’s footballers struck first in the game, with Jose Nieto Martinez putting one home in the 36th minute, but the US rebounded to score four unanswered goals.

They were led by Chris Wondolowski, who followed up his hat trick against Belize with a pair of goals in the 66th and 85th minutes, respectively.

Landon Donovan scored the initial equalizer in the 45th minute on a penalty kick, folllowed by a goal in the 57th minute by Joe Corona Crespin.

The US absolutely dominated possession in the game, holding onto the ball for a whopping 76 percent of the time.

Two Cuban players, Yoel Colome and Yenier Marquez, received yellow cards.
