Trinidad and Tobago Energy Minister Kevin Ramnarine is calling for “greater collaboration and partnership” between Trinidad and Venezuela in the area of natural gas development.

Ramnarine made the call this week during a visit to the 2nd Gas Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries’ Forum in Moscow this week.

“A natural gas strategy is part of the solution to the rising energy cost in the Caribbean and Latin America,” Ramnarine said.

He said he was committed to working together Venezuela, particularly on the development of the “large natural gas reserves” in the Plataforma Deltana area.

Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro , who recently led the PetroCaribe summti in Managua, was on hand in Moscow.

He will be visiting Trinidad and Tobago next week.
