Shahine Robinson has been named Jamaica’s Minister of Transport and Works following the resignation of former Minister Mike Henry.

Robinson, a member of the Jamaica Labour Party, was serving as Minister without Portfolio with responsibility for Local Government in the Ministry of Housing.

Robinson was among the Jamaican MPs involved in the country’s controversy over dual citizenship of last year.

She later completed the process of renouncing her United States citizenship, which she had attained by naturalization.

Dual citizenship is prohibited for sitting Members of Parliament in Jamaica.
