Southwest Could Fly to Nassau

Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly hinted in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that the carrier could be adding Nassau as a destination. Minister of Tourism and Aviation Vincent Vanderpool Wallace, who talked Bahamian tourism with the Caribbean Journal last week, has also given indications that the Bahamas would be adding several carriers. Southwest bought AirTran Airways for $1.42 billion last year, and, as AirTran already flies to Nassau, it would not appear to be difficult for Southwest to integrate the Bahamas into its route list.
