It’s Getting Easier for Canadians to Visit Cuba

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - November 13, 2021

It’s about to get significantly easier for Canadians to visit Cuba.

According to Canada-based travel giant Sunwing, beginning Nov. 15, fully vaccinated travelers to Cuba won’t need to provide a test or quarantine upon arrival in Cuba.

Passengers will have to provide proof of vaccination and complete a health form on board their flight, along with showing proof of COVID-19 insurance upon arrival.

Unvaccinated passengers will be required to show a negative PCR test taken and received within 72 hours before their flight departure.

“We resumed flights to Cuba last month and our customers are loving being back in this popular vacation destination,” commented Andrew Dawson, President of Tour Operations at Sunwing. “From the pristine beaches to the friendly people and beautiful resorts, we’ve received overwhelmingly positive reviews. We look forward to resuming our Cuba program in full force now that it’s easier than ever to visit the iconic destination, and we’re excited to be bringing even more Canadians back to its sunny shores this winter.”

Sunwing will be operating flights to Cuba’s Varadero, Cayo Coco, Cayo Santa Maria and Holguin out of Canadian cities including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Bagotville, Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Saskatoon.
