Cancun International Airport had another solid month in November, the latest data from parent company ASUR show.

After what was a sluggish year for most of 2019, the airport has picked up steam in recent months.

Indeed, traffic in Cancun last month rose by 2.5 percent, compared to the same month in 2018.

That was buoyed by a total of 1.293 million international passengers, according to ASUR.

That number far outpaced the airport’s yearly traffic growth, which has been largely flat at 0.2 percent.

For the year, Cancun, the busiest airport in the wider Caribbean, has handled 14.976 million passengers.

ASUR’s portfolio of regional airports also includes San Juan’s Luis Munoz Marin Interantional Airport, which is having a banner year so far.
