Colombia-based Avianca is expanding its flight service to Curaçao, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The carrier is adding four additional weekly flights between Bogota and Curaçao beginning Aug. 3.

That will mean a total of 11 flights each week from Bogota, with the new services on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.

It’s a big boost for Curaçao’s tourism industry, meaning more travelers from the Colombian market and the vast number of connections across Latin America on Avianca through its hub in Bogota.

Avianca will also be operating the flights on larger Airbus A320 aircraft.
