Curaçao’s hotel and tourism association has a new leader.

The Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association, or CHATA, has announced that Hans Slier, owner of the island’s Papagayo Beach Hotel and Beach Resort, has been voted as the new chairman of the organization.

Slier was selected during a board vote earlier this spring.

Slier has been joined on the new board by Omar van der Dijs as vice chairman; Robbin Vogels of the Avila Beach Hotel as treasurer; and Maylin Trenidad of the Renaissance Curaçao as secretary.
