By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 14, 2016 - 1:29 pm

JetBlue is growing fast.

The New York City-based airline that is the fastest-growing major airline in the Caribbean saw an 8.6 percent increase in revenue passenger miles last month, with 3.76 billion overall.

That came as the carrier’s load factor declined by 1.6 percentage points to 84.1 percent in April.

The carrier reported a preliminary completion factor of 99.3 percent, with on-time performance at 78.9 percent.

JetBlue has been rapidly adding new flights in the region, most recently new daily flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport and Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport.

According to the United States Department of Transportation, on-time arrivals are domestic flights arriving within 14 minutes of schedule.
