United States Vice President Joe Biden Visits St Croix

United States Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Dr Jill Biden visited the island of St Croix in the United States Virgin Islands this weekend.

Biden has been a frequent visitor St Croix during his time in office, most recently at the end of December 2013. Biden also visited the island in late December 2011.

Biden made the Caribbean trip ahead of a high-profile to Chile, where he arrived on Sunday for the inauguration of Chilean President Michelle Bachelet. He departed St Croix on Air Force Two on Sunday afternoon.

The purpose of the trip to St Croix seems to have been primarily rest and relaxation; it was not on Biden’s official schedule.
