OAS Secretary General Meets Regional Heads of State in Cuba

Organization of American States Secretary Genearl held talks with a number of regional leaders at this week’s Community of Latin American and Caribbean States conference in Havana, including Cuban President Raul Castro.

The event was attended by 32 different leaders in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

Insulza spoke with Brazil President Dilma Roussef; Haiti President Michel Martelly; Mexico President Enrique Peña Nieto; Paraguay’s Horacio Cartes; Dominican Republic President Danilo Medina and Venezuela’s Niicolás Maduro.

Insulza also met with the President of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, and the Chilean President-elect, Michelle Bachelet.

In a statement, the Organization of American States said Insulza also spoke with the Executive President of the Latin American Development Bank, Enrique Garcia, and Alicia Barcena, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.
