Nevis Is Making a New Push in Meetings and Incentive Travel

By: Caitlin Sullivan - July 8, 2025 - 2:33 pm

Nevis is making a strategic push to position itself as a premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions — with a clear message: the island is open for world-class events and exceptional experiences.

As part of that effort, the Nevis Tourism Authority has appointed Shelisia T. Glasford as its new Director of VIP and MICE Services, a leadership role focused on curating tailored experiences for high-value visitors and expanding the island’s appeal in the competitive MICE market, Caribbean Journal has confirmed.

In her new position, Glasford will oversee the development and execution of VIP visits and MICE-related programming. Her mandate includes everything from high-level coordination and logistics to driving partnerships that connect Nevis to international planners, organizations, and luxury event markets.

That puts one property at the center of its efforts: the Four Seasons Nevis, the island’s top (and really only viable) event destination.

“We are delighted to welcome Shelisia Glasford to this important role,” said the Honourable Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis. “Her wealth of international experience and passion for excellence are exactly what Nevis needs as we continue to grow our tourism sector and position our island as a premier destination for discerning travellers and world-class events.”

Glasford brings a decade-plus of international experience to the role. Her journey began in 2011 at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino, where she laid the foundation for a career rooted in service and operational excellence. She later held a series of progressively senior roles at Park Hyatt St. Kitts, including Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Front Office Manager, and Assistant Guest Experiences Manager.

Most recently, she served as Duty Manager at Park Hyatt Sydney, where she sharpened her skills in guest engagement, team leadership, and multicultural service delivery — all within one of the world’s most competitive luxury hospitality markets.

Her academic background includes studies in International Hospitality Management at César Ritz Colleges Switzerland and Les Roches Spain, institutions known for developing global leaders in hotel and tourism management.

“Shelisia’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Nevis,” said Pamela Martin, Board Chair of the Nevis Tourism Authority. “Her track record of innovation, leadership, and dedication to delivering outstanding guest experiences will be instrumental as we elevate our VIP and MICE offerings and strengthen our global presence.”

As the tourism landscape evolves, Nevis is making it clear that it’s not just a leisure destination — it’s a refined, intimate setting for high-level meetings, incentive retreats, and events that seek something distinct.
