St Maarten’s Top All-Inclusive Has a New Adults-Only Club With a Private Rooftop and Pool Bar

It’s one of the biggest trends in Caribbean travel right now: the resort-within-a-resort concept. It’s got different names in different places and with different brands (Riu just added a new one in Aruba, for example). Sometimes it manifests as a “preferred club.” Other times it’s a special wing. Or some kind of jewel.

What unites all of these is an elevated guest experience, akin to a resort-within-a-resort, where you’re staying in the same hotel as all the other guests but you’re getting a different kind of experience, from enhanced in-room amenities and special service— just to name a few.

The latest example of this trend? A new concept at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort in St Maarten. The property calls it the “Ultimate Adults Only Club,” and it’s set on the top floors of the beloved Maho-area resort, one of our favorite all-inclusive resorts in the Dutch Caribbean.

So what does the club give you?

the two all-inclusive resorts comprise the Sonesta St Maarten.

For starters, you get priority check-in, welcomed with a glass of champagne. You then talk to a team member on the 10th floor, set within the exclusive-access Ultimate Club Lounge, which has pastries, snacks and coffee whenever you want them.

There’s also special gym access just for Club guests; an exclusive pool bar; and a special rooftop lounge called Cloud 9.

You also get a special “curated” room service menu that specializes in late-night orders, along with an upgraded beverage experience inside your room — along with in-room touches like bathrobes and improved toiletries.

It’s a new adults-focused experience at a resort that’s traditionally been best known as a family-friendly resort.

Of course, another great option is the adjacent Ocean Point resort, a true adults-only that has everything from a stunning rooftop to some of our favorite swim-up rooms in the Caribbean — which we throughly enjoyed on our previous stays at the resort.

So how much does it cost?

A standard “island view” room at the Sonesta Maho will run you around $359 per night right now.

To upgrade to the Ultimate Adults-Only Club, you’re looking at prices around $509 per night.
