This Playa del Carmen Hotel Has a New GM

One of Playa del Carmen’s top hotels has named a new general manager, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

The Thompson Playa del Carmen has appointed Matias Tugores to the role, 

Tugores comes to the hotel after having served at hotels including the Excellence Collection in Puerto Morelos and Catalonia Playa del Carmen and Shibati Tulum, among other stops. 

“It is a great pleasure to be part of the Thompson Playa del Carmen family. I’m looking forward to growing and learning from the staff, developing new skills and ideas, and working together toward great achievements,” Tugores said. 

The 92-room-and-suite hotel is party of the Hyatt portfolio.
