The Caribbean Has a New Yoga Festival

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 12, 2023

There’s a major new yoga festival coming to the Caribbean this summer.

The new Bonaire Yoga and Wellness Festival will be held June 19-25, 2023, in partnership with the Bindu Yoga and Healing Center.

The weeklong festival will include yoga retreats, rejuvenation packages and classes by top teachers and influencers in the wellness space.

That will include an Ashtanga Yoga Retreat held by renowned teacher Laruga Glaser.

Another retreat, the Gentle Healing Yoga Retreat, in partnership with the Flowmingo Studio, will focus on using chakras to release emotional blockages in the body.

“We are excited to host our first annual Yoga & Wellness festival this summer and introduce visitors to the ultimate wellness experience,” said Miles Mercera, CEO of TCB. “Bonaire’s untouched nature paired with our efforts to encourage sustainable travel with a focus on reconnecting with not only the Earth, but ourselves has played a major role in the curation of this event. The wellness week aims to bring yogis and those simply looking to enhance their spiritual experience together while offering unique opportunities for rejuvenation and enlightenment.”

The Yoga Week will conclude on June 25 with a Yoga Festival on Te Amp Beach, featuring educational classes, workshops, lectures and “enlightening experiences.”

There will also be a gathering of food trucks with health-conscious foods and a lifestyle market.

It’s part of what is an exciting event lineup this summer in Bonaire that begins with the popular Bonaire Rum Week from June 12-17.
