Delta Is Adding More Nonstop Caribbean Flights From Boston, With a Big Boost for Aruba
The airline is expanding nonstop service to six Caribbean and Mexico destinations for April 2027, including Turks and Caicos, Puerto Rico, Aruba and The Bahamas.
An April school vacation can come down to a single flight: the Saturday departure that fits the calendar, the Sunday return that gives you another night away, the nonstop that lets you skip a connection with the whole family in tow.
Delta is adding more of those options from Boston next spring, expanding flights to Aruba, San Juan, Punta Cana, Cancun, Providenciales and Nassau during the Patriots’ Day and spring break travel period. Aruba gets the largest increase among the six destinations, with five additional weekly flights bringing service to as many as 12 departures per week.
The expansion puts some very different Caribbean vacations within nonstop reach of Boston Logan, from a week on Eagle Beach to a few days in Old San Juan or a resort escape on Grace Bay.
When the Extra Flights Are Coming
The added service is planned around April 2027, with peak travel dates of April 16–18 and April 22–25. Delta’s broader Boston expansion spans 10 days around Patriots’ Day and spring break, targeting a stretch when school calendars can leave families with relatively little flexibility.
Across the full package of featured leisure routes, including domestic destinations, Delta plans more than 45 additional round-trip flights and approximately 6,000 additional seats. That represents 15 percent more seats than during the comparable 2026 holiday period. Those figures cover the broader expansion, including Florida and the Southeast.
If you’re considering an April Caribbean trip, the timing is the key detail. The published weekly frequencies describe Delta’s planned peak holiday schedule, and you’ll need to check the departures available on your specific dates.
Aruba Gets the Biggest Increase
Aruba is the standout in Delta’s Caribbean additions, with service from Boston reaching up to 12 flights per week, including five additional weekly frequencies.
That gives the route a substantial boost during the vacation period. More departures give you more possibilities when you’re comparing the beginning and end of a trip, although the actual distribution of flights will depend on the day.
Aruba also gives you choices once you arrive. You can spend the week along Palm Beach, opt for the wider sands of Eagle Beach or divide your days between the coast and the island’s rugged interior. Our guide to Aruba’s best beaches covers the range, from shallow swimming spots to quieter snorkeling coves.
The flight increase is particularly useful if Aruba is already on your shortlist and your travel dates are tied to a school break. Twelve weekly flights describes the total schedule; it doesn’t mean two flights operate every day.
More Saturday Options to Puerto Rico, Punta Cana and Cancun
Three destinations are each scheduled to reach up to eight flights per week from Boston: San Juan, Punta Cana and Cancun. Each gets an additional Saturday frequency.
The Saturday additions are especially relevant if you’re planning a conventional week away. They give you another flight to consider on a day that often anchors school vacation travel, whether you’re coordinating a family trip or matching flights to an existing reservation.
The destinations cover three different kinds of escape. San Juan lets you combine a city stay with beach time, with Old San Juan’s streets, restaurants and historic forts within the same trip. Punta Cana puts the emphasis on the resort vacation, particularly if you want an all-inclusive stay with fewer daily decisions.
The Dominican Republic destination has continued to attract airline investment, including JetBlue’s expansion between Tampa and Punta Cana.
Cancun opens up Mexico’s Caribbean coast, whether your plans center on the Hotel Zone or take you farther south along the Riviera Maya. The added Saturday departure gives Boston passengers another nonstop option at the start of that journey.
Turks and Caicos Adds Another Saturday Flight
Delta’s Boston–Providenciales service will reach up to two flights per week, including an additional Saturday frequency.
At that frequency, the days of operation deserve an early look in your planning. If you’re considering Turks and Caicos, compare the flight calendar before committing to the rest of the trip, particularly if you have a fixed check-in date or a limited number of vacation days.
Providenciales is the arrival point for Grace Bay and the island’s other beach communities. The added flight gives you another Boston departure to consider for a trip focused on beach days, snorkeling and time on the water.
The island is also continuing to evolve, with projects like The Point on Grace Bay adding another chapter to its luxury tourism growth.
Nassau Expands Into Sunday
Delta plans up to five weekly flights between Boston and Nassau, with the expanded schedule including Sunday frequencies.
A Sunday option can be useful when a Saturday departure doesn’t fit your plans. Depending on the available return flights, it can also give you another way to arrange a shorter Bahamas trip or adjust the length of a school vacation stay.
Nassau gives you access to both New Providence and Paradise Island, so the flight decision can come before a wide range of vacations: a large resort, a smaller hotel or a trip with more time devoted to restaurants and exploring.
What to Check Before You Book
The most significant change is the additional choice on specific travel days. Aruba gets the biggest frequency increase, three routes gain another Saturday departure, Turks and Caicos adds Saturday capacity and Nassau’s schedule expands to include Sundays.
Start with your exact April dates, then compare the nonstop options in both directions. Delta says the published frequencies are planned peak Patriots’ Day levels and remain subject to change.
