St. Kitts Is Celebrating Caribbean Food, Local Chefs, and Island Flavors

The music may have faded, but the festivals aren’t slowing down in St. Kitts and Nevis.
After welcoming thousands of visitors for the St. Kitts Music Festival and another successful edition of the Nevis Mango Festival, the twin-island destination has turned its attention to one of its fastest-growing annual events: Culinary Month.
Running throughout July, the island-wide celebration is bringing together chefs, restaurants, hotels and local producers for a calendar of tastings, dinners and food-focused events across both St. Kitts and Nevis.
If you’re planning a visit this month, it’s one of the best opportunities of the year to experience the destination through its food.
A Month Built Around Local Flavors
Each year, Culinary Month highlights ingredients grown in St. Kitts and Nevis, challenging chefs to create original dishes inspired by local agriculture.
This year’s featured ingredients are carrot and passionfruit, with restaurants across the federation incorporating both into special menus throughout the month.
The annual event has become a showcase for the islands’ evolving culinary scene, pairing traditional Kittitian and Nevisian flavors with contemporary techniques and fresh local produce.
You’ll find participating restaurants creating limited-time dishes alongside chef collaborations, tasting menus and special dining experiences that are only available during July.
The Biggest Events
The month is anchored by several signature events spread across both islands.
One of the highlights is Rooted in Passion, the official tasting showcase presented by the destination’s culinary team at the Royal St. Kitts Hotel, bringing together chefs for an evening centered on this year’s featured ingredients.
The celebration continues with the St. Kitts Tasting Showcase at Eco Park, followed by the Nevis Tasting Showcase at the Mount Nevis Hotel, giving visitors the chance to sample creations from restaurants and chefs across both islands.
If you’re looking for something different, Cook, Sip & Glamp at Park Hyatt St. Kitts pairs cooking experiences with one of the destination’s premier luxury resorts.
Other highlights include Grill Fest at Frigate Bay Lawn, one of the island’s signature outdoor food events, and Taste at Twilight at Orchid Bay, combining local cuisine with waterfront dining.
Together, the events create a month-long festival that stretches well beyond traditional restaurant dining.
Special Experiences Across Both Islands
The celebration also extends into restaurants and hospitality venues throughout St. Kitts and Nevis.
On St. Kitts, participating experiences include a Restaurant Month event at Chill Beach Bar, the Yachtsman Grill Breakfast Buffet, special menus at Flavors by Carambola and the Serendipity Children’s Home Charity Dinner.
Over on Nevis, the calendar includes the Queen City R&B Event at Queen City Bar & Garden, blending live entertainment with local food and drinks.
Many restaurants are also introducing Restaurant Month menus built around this year’s featured ingredients, giving visitors another reason to explore the islands’ dining scene throughout July.
If you’re staying for several days, you’ll find different experiences taking place almost every week of the month.
A Growing Culinary Destination
Food has become an increasingly important part of the visitor experience in St. Kitts and Nevis, with the destination continuing to expand its calendar of culinary events alongside its music, sports and cultural festivals.
“Culinary Month celebrates the creativity of our chefs, the richness of our culture, and the authentic flavours that define St. Kitts and Nevis,” said Kelly Fontenelle, chief executive officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority.
“We invite everyone to support our local restaurants, attend the month’s events, and discover the exceptional culinary talent that continues to elevate our destination.”
Tourism Minister Marsha T. Henderson said the festival also creates opportunities across the tourism sector, benefiting restaurants, farmers, fishers, entertainers and other local businesses throughout the federation.
Planning a Culinary Getaway
If you’re visiting St. Kitts and Nevis during July, you’ll find culinary events taking place across both islands, making it easy to build a vacation around the festival.
The twin-island destination offers nonstop flights from gateways including Miami, New York, Charlotte, Atlanta, Toronto and London, with ferry service connecting St. Kitts and Nevis throughout the day.
If you’re looking for luxury, Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour remains one of the Caribbean’s premier resort experiences and is also hosting one of the month’s signature culinary events.
On Nevis, you’ll find longtime favorites including the Four Seasons Resort Nevis, while boutique options like the Montpelier Plantation & Beach put you close to many of the island’s restaurants and festival experiences.
Whether you’re planning your vacation around a single tasting event or spending the month exploring restaurants across both islands, Culinary Month has become one of the Caribbean’s most compelling celebrations of local food—one that showcases not only what grows in St. Kitts and Nevis, but also the chefs and communities bringing those ingredients to the table.
