6.1 Earthquake Near Cuba Causes Shaking From Cancun to Florida 

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit off the northwestern coast of Cuba on Monday afternoon, causing shaking around the region, according to the US Geological Survey. 

The quake was felt across Cuba, although causing no damage or injuries. 

There were reports of shaking as far west as Cancun and the Riviera Maya, with a heavy concentration in the Mexican Caribbean. 

There were reports of shaking across Florida, on the west coast north of Tampa and on the east coast well north of Port Saint Lucie, along with quake reports as far south as Key West. 

There was one report of shaking in Belize. 

The epicenter of the quake was about 65 miles west-northwest of Mantua in Cuba, and about 95.7 miles west north west of Pinar del Rio. 

It came at a depth of 10 kilometers, at about 1pm local time.
