Meliá Is Opening a New Hotel in Mexico City With a Rooftop Bar, a Terrace, and a Prime Spot in Roma Norte

Mexico City is having a major moment — and one of the world’s largest hotel companies wants a piece of it.
Meliá Hotels International is returning to the Mexican capital this summer with the debut of INNSiDE Mexico Roma Norte, a new lifestyle hotel landing right in the creative heart of one of the city’s most stylish neighborhoods.
Set to open June 8, the 91-room hotel marks Meliá’s very first property in Mexico City — and its ninth across Mexico, a market the company calls one of its most important anywhere in the world.
A Hotel Built for the “Bleisure” Traveler
The new INNSiDE is squarely aimed at the kind of traveler who no longer draws a hard line between a work trip and a vacation.
That blend of business and leisure, increasingly known as “bleisure,” has become one of the fastest-growing trends in travel, and few cities capture it better than Mexico City, where a booming business scene collides with world-class food, art and nightlife.
“With INNSiDE, we are reinforcing our commitment to the fast-growing bleisure segment and to a traveler seeking creativity, flexibility, and an authentic local experience,” said Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International.
Why Roma Norte
Location is a big part of the story here.
Roma Norte is widely considered one of the coolest corners of Mexico City — a leafy, walkable neighborhood where early-20th-century architecture sits alongside some of the capital’s best restaurants, cafés, galleries and design shops.
The hotel leans into that energy with flexible, contemporary spaces designed to flow with the rhythm of the day, plus a curated program of activities tied to the city’s history, culture and creative talent.
What to Expect Inside
The 91-room property is built around its communal spaces, with plenty of room to work, unwind or linger over a long evening. The rooftop comes with a restaurant and bar, while a lobby bar and terrace are designed for slow, all-day hangs. There’s also a gym and dedicated meeting space for the working half of the equation.
The idea, the company says, is a place where hospitality meets urban living — open, social and easy to settle into for a few days or much longer.
Perfect Timing — Hello, World Cup
The opening also arrives at a moment of huge global attention for Mexico City, which is one of the host cities for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
With millions of eyes on the destination, a buzzy new lifestyle hotel in a buzzy neighborhood is well-timed, to say the least.
Mexico Is Just the Beginning
The new hotel is part of a much bigger play in Mexico, now Meliá’s second-largest market by both revenue and workforce.
The brand already has a strong presence in beach destinations like Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Cozumel, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, and there’s plenty more on the way.
Meliá recently reopened Paradisus Cancún following a major renovation. Further ahead, the company will debut its first hotel in San Miguel de Allende under its luxury ME by Meliá brand.
The spotlight, though, is on Mexico City right now — and a new place to stay in one of its most exciting neighborhoods.
Prices at Innside
The prices are coming in at under $200 per night right now, based on what I found on Melia’s platform. I should note that the company’s website only shows availability for August.
