Marriott’s New All-Inclusive Resort-Within-a-Resort in the Riviera Maya Has 10 Ocean-View Suites With Private Pools

They have lots of names. Preferred clubs. Diamond clubs. Hotels-within-hotels. But one thing is constant — they’re worth the splurge. There’s just something about that extra level of service, the privacy, the amenities — the rooms themselves. And now the Caribbean has a brand new one, at one of its most legendary resorts — and the newest addition to Marriott’s growing all-inclusive footprint in the region.
The Reserve
It’s called The Reserve at Paraiso de la Bonita, and it’s the newest addition to the Paraiso de la Bonita, a Luxury Collection Resort in the Riviera Maya. It’s an expansion for the resort, which recently joined Royalton’s Reserve Collection.
What You Get
Crucially, this is not a big expansion. It’s a rarefied, intimate colleciotn of just 10 suites in one building. But the amenities are vast: you get your own private pool, a dedicated lounge, exclusive areas on the beach; special dining and bar options; optional private airport transfers and, perhaps most notably, “continuous, personalized butler service.” (There’s even a private helipad if you want to arrive that way).
What the Rooms Are Like
There’s a mix of larger suites: one, two, or three-bedroom configurations, each of which faces the water and includes two terraces and private pools — along with things like outdoor showers and spa-style bathrooms.
It’s a very different kind of accommodation, particularly at an all-inclusive resort. And yes, it includes Royalton’s existing Diamond Club category, which gives you access to the areas at The Reserve even if you’re not in a dedicated Reserve suite.
The Dining Options
So you get two eateries: one is Qin Qin, an interesting fusion of Mexican and Asian flavors; there are also pirate pool and beach bars for the Reserve, along with a Diamond Club lounge and bar.
There’s also a culinary concept called Gosselin Cooking Studio, a kind of chef’s table experience that is aimed for the resort’s architect.
It’s not the only thing that’s new, though. The property, which we’ve loved since it was a Secrets resort a decade ago, is also adding a new spa called Thalasso, with private suites, sundecks, hydrotherapy circuits and a beauty salon.
The Resort Itself
This is not all to say that the resort itself — that is, the non-Reserve version — is not excellent in its own right. Many of the 90 rooms at this beach resort already come with their own pools — and the food, service and wellness programs are at the highest end of what you can find at a luxury all-inclusive in the Caribbean.
Bonvoy
Yes, while it’s now managed by Royalton (a change that took effect late last year), it’s still part of the Marriott Bonvoy program, meaning you can book this resort on points if you so choose.
Prices
So what will this all cost you? A two-king suite in the Reserve building will start at around $1,570.80 per night, all-inclusive. That gets you a very large suite with its own private infinity pool.
