Bahamasair and Emirates Just Launched an Interline Agreement
Bahamasair and Emirates have activated their interline agreement, moving the partnership from planning to full operation and opening a new pathway for global travelers connecting to The Bahamas.
The agreement enables passengers flying on Emirates’ international network to book seamless itineraries to the Bahamian islands via Florida, with a single ticket and coordinated baggage check-through across both airlines.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, the Honourable I. Chester Cooper, said the move marks an important step forward for air connectivity, noting that the partnership is now fully operational and provides travelers with straightforward connections to The Bahamas. He highlighted the agreement as evidence of what coordinated efforts between the national airline and major international carriers can achieve in expanding access to the destination.
Bahamasair Managing Director Tracy Cooper underscored the operational impact of the activation, explaining that Bahamasair can now serve as a reliable bridge for visitors traveling from key international cities through Florida. With the framework in place, the airline can better align schedules and strengthen its domestic network, creating smoother travel for visitors connecting across the archipelago.
The launch represents the first phase of the June Memorandum of Understanding between the two airlines, which outlined plans for expanded cooperation.
With the interline component now live, travelers can immediately take advantage of integrated itineraries linking Emirates flights to Bahamasair services through Florida, reinforcing the national carrier’s role as the central connector across the islands
