Jamaica Is Deepening Its Relationship With Emirates 

It would take about 17 hours to fly nonstop from Dubai to Montego Bay, Jamaica. And while such a flight would be a boon for the island, it remains a long way off. 

Having said that, Jamaica is deepening its relationship with Dubai’s Emirates airline. The two sides met this week during the Arabian Travel Market conference, mostly discussing improved connectivity through Emirates’ codeshare partners and enhanced promotion options.

Emirates’ codeshare partners include German carrier Condor, which does operate nonstop flights to Jamaica. That means you can book a flight from Dubai to Frankfurt, then fly to Jamaica, all by purchasing a single ticket. 

Emirates also has an interline agreement with United, which of course flies to Jamaica as well. 

The hope is for an eventual nonstop flight between Dubai and Montego Bay, but at this point that is just an aviation dream.

Emirates had a decade ago announced plans for a flight between Dubai and Panama City, Panama, although that route was canceled before a flight ever took off in 2016.  It would have been the first flight for the carrier to a Caribbean Basin country.

Of course, Emirates does already fly the nearly 16-hour flight between Dubai and Miami, which is just a short flight away from Montego Bay.
