Waldorf Astoria’s next Caribbean Basin resort now has an opening date, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The new Waldorf Astoria Punta Cacique is taking bookings for stays beginning May 1, parent company Hilton has confirmed.

The beach resort will have 148 rooms and suites, along with six dining concepts, a Peacock Alley bar and a stunning setting on the edge of a 300-foot cliffside.

The property, designed by Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, will have several multi-level pools, a wellness center and both a kids and teens club, among other amenities.

“With reservations now open, we eagerly look forward to welcoming guests to experience the destination with the bespoke service that Waldorf Astoria is known for,” said Ruben Gabino, general manager, Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique

So what about prices?

You can find an ocean-view king room for rates starting at $1,580 per night.

That goes up to $1,738 for a “Bahia” room with its own private plunge pool.

There’s just one other Waldorf Astoria hotel in the Caribbean, the Waldorf Astoria Cancun.

The new Waldorf is part of a growing pipeline of luxury resorts in Costa Rica, one that includes the highly-anticipated St. Regis residential resort which we reported on last week.
