The Dominican Republic’s biggest hotspot is set for another boost next month when Southwest Airlines adds its newest Caribbean flight.
Beginning March 8, Southwest will launch a new nonstop flight between Nashville and Punta Cana, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The new service will be running once every week on Saturdays.
It’s a testament to the post-pandemic growth of the city, which is now sending more and more travelers to the Caribbean.

Southwest already operates flights between Nashville and Cancun on the Caribbean coast of Mexico.
The new Punta Cana route will be joined by another new flight between Nashville and Cabo San Lucas on the Pacific coast of Mexico.
So what about prices?
Rates on the initial flights are running around $684 for anytime fares on the route, which is already sold out for the March 8 flight.
