Puerto Rico’s New Adults-Only Luxury Hotel Is Now Taking Bookings
The history. The music. The food (perhaps the most underrated thing about the city, actually). The art scene. San Juan, Puerto Rico is as vibrant and dynamic a place as you’ll find in the Caribbean. But for years the beloved capital has been missing something: a true ultra-luxe hotel.
Indeed, the luxury segment has had a void for some time in San Juan. Because while the city is filled with solid hotels from boutiques to beach resorts, it hasn’t had a true ultra-luxe hotel since the shuttering of the former Ritz-Carlton, San Juan (which is actually reopening soon, too).
But this summer, that should change, with the debut of a major new luxury option: Verano San Juan, a member of Leading Hotels of the World which is now taking bookings for stays beginning June 16, according to Leading Hotels of the World.
The hotel, set in what was once an office building, will have just 20 rooms, all suites; it will also be an adults-only hotel.

It’s all about a modern take on Puerto Rican luxury, from a lobby lounge called Cipacu to a rooftop bar and lounge.
What about prices?
You can find rates as low as $457.32 after taxes and fees, if you prepay. If you don’t pre pay, the rate goes up to $481.40.
That gets you a deluxe king bed room.

It’s a very exciting addition to one of the Caribbean’s busiest hotel markets — and a fascinating new LHW, a hotel network we’re very big fans of, both within the region and beyond.

If you can’t wait and are still looking for a great Puerto Rico hotel option, we have you covered. The O:live brand has some decidedly lovely boutique hotels in Condado, from the original O:live Boutique Hotel (rooms from $302) to the sleek, romantic OLV Fifty Five (we’ve stayed at both and love their rooftop lounges and pools — though the stunning bathrooms at the OLV might move the needle in its favor). Rooms from $328, according to Google Hotels.
