Preferred Hotels Just Added an All-Inclusive, Overwater Bungalow Resort in the Riviera Maya

By: Guy Britton - November 8, 2024

It’s something of a secret on the coast of the Riviera Maya in Mexico: Palafitos, a collection of overwater bungalows that comprise the only true overwater resort in the Mexican Caribbean.

Now, the Palafitos Overwater Bungalows resort has officially joined the Preferred Hotels portfolio, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The property consists of 31 private bungalows, each with its own private infinity pool, an outdoor shower, see-through floors and a Mayan aesthetic.

There are 31 bungalows at the resort.

The resort, which was once part of the Karisma portfolio, also has a wellness program and a unique glass-floor restaurant.

And yes, it’s an adults-only, all-inclusive resort. Meaning not only do you not have to leave the resort, you probably won’t want to leave your room.

It’s now part of Preferred’s luxe LVX Collection.

What about pricing? Rooms start at $2,166 in mid-December, according to Google Hotels.

For more, visit Palafitos.
