Grand Turk in Turks and Caicos Is Trending Right Now

By: Jose Antonio - October 31, 2024 - 4:10 pm

It’s perhaps best known as one of the world’s top diving destinations, anchored by a 7,000-foot drop that diving devotees call the “Mount Everest” of diving.

It’s also one of the most popular cruise destinations in the Caribbean, focused around a cruise center that has shopping, eateries and other things to do.

No matter the reason, one thing is clear: Grand Turk is hot right now. The island saw the biggest increase in searches from US travelers over the last year, according to data from Skyscanner.

The increase? A whopping 528 percent compared to 2023, leading Skyscanner to call it the “top trending place to travel in 2025.”

“Smaller, alternative destinations are growing in popularity with U.S. travelers. Feeling burnt out from work, Americans are seeking destinations where they can get out in nature,” the company said in a report provided to Caribbean Journal. “Grand Turk is the perfect example, as it features the natural beauty and crystal-clear waters that Turks and Caicos is renowned for, while still being off the beaten path from the destination’s main island of Providenciales.”

Grand Turk was the only Caribbean destination in the top 10.

Are you planning to visit Grand Turk? If you’re on a cruise, you can sail on companies like Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and Holland America, among others.

If you’re flying, while there are no direct flights, there is regular service between Providenciales and Grand Turk and local carriers.
