Costa Rica’s Carbon-Neutral Hotel Just Reopened With a New Look
It’s set in the cloud forest of Costa Rica. It’s one of the Caribbean Basin’s oases of regenerative tourism. And it’s the country’s top carbon-neutral hotel.
And now the popular Hotel Belmar has a new look.
The boutique, 26-room Costa Rican retreat has revealed the results of a recent renovation project, highlighted by an upgrade to its guest rooms.
The project, led by local designers at NAAS Interior Culture, looked to cultivate “balance between contemporary design” and the property’s forest surroundings.
That saw the addition of new natural materials, subdued colors and natural fibers.
It’s part of what Hotel Belmar managing director Pedro Belmar calls a “commitment to thoughtful design processes that honor organic growth and fluid evolution.”
The new design captures “our vision of sustainability,” he said.
So what else do you need to know about the Belmar?
The hotel has found popularity for a unique mix of quiet, wellness and locally-focused, immersive experiences, from forest journeys to farm-to-table dinners.
There’s even a craft brewery right on the property.
