American Airlines Will Soon Fly Nonstop to the Dominican Republic’s Top Resort

Some of the best golf courses in the world. A superyacht marina. The Caribbean’s hottest new wellness destination. A new luxury boutique resort.
This is Casa de Campo, the crown jewel of La Romana in the Dominican Republic, and now the country’s premier resort will be easier to access than ever.
American Airlines has announced plans to launch a new nonstop route that will fly directly to La Romana in the Dominican Republic, the airport that’s right on the 7,000-acre Casa de Campo property.

That means you can fly nonstop from Miami to Casa de Campo, with flights beginning on Dec. 5.
“We are thrilled about this first step in rebuilding our partnership and air lift into La Romana with American Airlines,” said Jason Kycek, senior vice president at Casa de Campo, told Caribbean Journal. “We are grateful to Miami-Dade Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera’s support in helping us and look forward to working more closely with Miami International Airport and American Airlines in the year ahead. Casa de Campo and American Airlines have enjoyed a rich history together over the years and we are excited to renew our partnership together”
Even better? Flights will be operating daily, with service on American’s Airbus A319 aircraft.
It’s a serious boost for a resort that has been one of the most popular places to stay in the Caribbean since the pandemic and continues to be at the forefront of the Caribbean luxury experience.
That includes its enviable collection of golf courses, from the legendary Pete Dye-designed Teeth of the Dog to the 27-hole “Dye Fore,” with three different layouts around the property.

It also includes the resort’s brand-new wellness destination, a high-tech spa center anchored by an 18,000-square-foot facility that includes averaging from a hydrothermal circuit to “jet peel” facials.
And then there is the just-debuted Premier Club, Casa de Campo’s new luxury resort-within-a-resort, which consists of 58 suites, each of which comes with private concierge service, turndown, pillow menus and dedicated golf carts, among other amenities.
The amenities go even further. You have the marina, the equestrian center; the Minitas Beach Club; the racquet center; the shooting center; the spectacular Altos de Chavon, a faithful re-creation of a Mediterranean hillside village.

You can choose a traditional room or one of the hundreds of private villas at the resort, most of which come with golf carts and dedicated staff, from housekeeping to all-day butler service. (You can find more here).
So what if you’re not flying though Miami?
It’s easy to get to Casa de Campo from both Santo Domingo and Punta Cana airports; you can arrange transfers through the hotel or with companies like Viator.
There’s also seasonal service between Miami and La Romana direct on Dominican Republic-based carrier Red Air.
