Marriott has a new all-inclusive concept in Cancun.

It’s been five years that Marriott has been in the all-inclusive space, first with its acquisition of Barbados’ Elegant Hotels, then with the alliance with Blue Diamond Resorts. All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy, as the company’s all-inclusive portfolio is known, keeps growing and adding new properties.

But not until recently was there an actual Marriott-branded all-inclusive. That just changed with the debut of the new Marriott Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort.

The 450-room resort in Cancun’s Hotel Zone is the first-ever Marriott-branded all-inclusive, replacing the former EP Marriott Cancun Resort, which closed last year for what became an “extensive” renovation project.

The former Marriott Cancun is now an all-inclusive resort.

The new-look, rebranded resort is a family-friendly property that “creates spaces for every generation of traveler,” according to the property.

“It’s exciting to be at the forefront of a groundbreaking new resort like this,” said Chris Calabrese, General Manager and Vice President of Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort and the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa. “To be the first all-inclusive fully conceptualized by Marriott, not only in Mexico, but in the world, is a true testament to the culture and care for our guests we’ve built at this location. We are thrilled to welcome our guests back with open arms.”

The hotel includes a number of firsts for the Marriott all-inclusive concepts.

The resort is set in the heart of Cancun’s Hotel Zone.

That includes The Greatroom, an all-inclusive take on Marriott’s signature “hub” concept, with a community feel and even the addition of a soda “refresher” with crafted sodas for guests.

Programming is a big key for Marriott’s all-inclusive push, and that’s a focus here: as a guest, you get access to the hotel’s “novice to expert artist workshops,” meaning special programs and activities led by local craftspeople in Cancun.

The resort’s amenities range from a “dynamic” pool scape to water slides and even pop-up movie nights.

On the dining front, there’s everything from a “signature burger and shake restaurant and other “beach-inspired eateries.” Overall, the resort has nine different specialty restaurants.
