Bermuda Is the Fastest-Growing Island for Canadian Travelers Right Now

Bermuda is having a moment with Canadian travelers.

The island is now the fastest-growing destination for visitors from Canada, with travel up nearly 30 percent year over year, according to new data from the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

The latest figures show Bermuda welcomed 15,191 Canadian visitors, a 30.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year — a surge that puts the island at the top of the growth list in the Canadian market.

Why Bermuda Is Surging With Canadians

Part of Bermuda’s appeal has always been the easy fit. It’s a quick flight from major Canadian gateways, the time zone is convenient, and the island delivers a very specific kind of getaway: pink-sand beaches, cliffside coves, and a polished, walkable capital in Hamilton where you can actually build a trip around restaurants, bars, and harborfront afternoons.

The difference right now is momentum.

Bermuda has been showing up more in the way Canadians are traveling: shorter escapes, long weekends, and trips that blend beach time with a city-style hotel stay. It’s an island where you can spend a morning in the water at Horseshoe Bay, be back in town for a late lunch, and still have a dinner reservation without feeling like you’re planning around distance.

A Different Kind of Island Trip

Bermuda doesn’t feel like a traditional tropical destination. The architecture is different. The pace is different. The water is different, too — cooler, clearer, and often a deeper shade of blue.
