Frontier Airlines Is Returning to St Maarten

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 4, 2023

Ultra-low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines is making its return to the Dutch Caribbean destination of St Maarten next week, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Frontier is set to restart its service between Orlando and St Maarten on June 10, according to St Maarten Tourism Minister Arthur Lambriex. The relaunch comes after what the Minister described as a series of high-level discussions with the carrier.

“We are happy to have Frontier back in our skies, connecting two magical destinations and opening doors to travel possibilities,” Lambriex said. “This renewed partnership signifies our commitment to providing exceptional air connectivity and showcasing the beauty and hospitality of St Maarten.”

The Orlando-Frontier route is operating once weekly with service on Saturdays.

The flight takes about three-and-a-half hours.

Frontier has been the fastest-expanding carrier in the Caribbean since the onset of the pandemic, adding new routes across the region at a dizzying pace, both from traditional hubs like Miami and up-and-coming source markets for the Caribbean like St. Louis and Denver.

“Together we will create memorable travel experiences and reinforce St Maarten’s position as a premier Caribbean destination,” Lambriex said.

It’s the second major Caribbean return for Frontier in the last month, following the carrier’s relaunch of Orlando-Antigua service in the third week of May.
