The adults-only, adult-oriented Desire Riviera Maya resort is getting bigger, with newly-announced plans for an expansion at the Mexican Caribbean property.

Desire is adding 42 new rooms with a new resort-within-a-resort called Eden; the new wing will be opening its doors on Feb. 5, 2024, according to Rodrigo de la Peña, President at Original Group Resorts, whose Caribbean portfolio includes the Temptation resorts in Cancun and the Dominican Republic.

“We’re excited to officially announce that The Eden will be unveiled and ready to greet guests [in February 2024],” de la Peña said. ““We are proud to go above and beyond to offer travelers exquisite ecstasy, with their desires as our command.”

Eden will also include 22 “Beloved Suites,” all with private jacuzzis, along with seven garden-view swim-up suites and another four pool-view swim-up suites.

The resort will feature a swim-up bar, a bar called Y Nightclub and a new “Playroom.”

They will be joined by a boutique called Mystique, and a new Jacuzzi Lounge and Bar.

Original Group also announced a new wellness center called the Exotic Spa, along with a pair of new eateries: Eros, which will focus on international fare, and Kahlo, which will serve up Mexican gastronomy.
